How to get on a
TED Talk stage.
The real path.

In 60 minutes, I will show you exactly how my clients get selected, prepared, and delivered onto TED and TEDx stages, from talk idea to standing ovation. I have coached seven of them. Every method used, unpacked.

The transformation

From audience to speaker.

Every one of my TED speakers started here. Watching, wondering, wishing. Here is what the shortlist actually looks like on the other side.

Where you are now

You have the idea. The stage feels a world away.

  • You have watched dozens of TED talks and know exactly which one you would give
  • You have no idea how speakers actually get selected, so you assume you can't
  • Your idea has been sitting in a Notes app for months, unfinished
  • You are waiting to be discovered by an organizer who has never heard your name
  • You imagine you'd need to be more famous first, more polished first, more ready first
After the masterclass

You know exactly how the pipeline works, top to bottom.

  • You know the three types of TED organizers and how to actually reach the right one
  • You have the "idea worth spreading" test that separates a talk from a good idea
  • You know the opening structure every TED talk that goes viral shares
  • You can spot the difference between a talk that will land and one that won't, on paper
  • You have my exact 12-week prep arc that took my speakers from yes to standing ovation
Inside the 60 minutes

What you will walk out with.

i

The "idea worth spreading" test

The three questions I ask every idea before I take on the client. If your talk passes, an organizer will want it. If not, no amount of polish will save it.

ii

How TED organizers actually pick

The specific signals a curator scans for in the first 90 seconds of a submission video. If you get these right, you jump the queue.

iii

The 12-week arc from yes to stage

The exact prep schedule I run with every TEDx speaker. Week by week, what to write, cut, rehearse, and rest before the day.

iv

Live Q&A with me

Bring your specific talk, your specific room, your specific fear. I answer as many as we have time for. Recording sent to registrants only.

Method
Ivy League craft, meets soul work.

Jennifer Doody taught public speaking at Harvard for over a decade across the Business School, Kennedy School, Law School, and the Institute of Politics. Her coached speakers have appeared on TED.com, delivered Harvard commencements, and been picked up by CNN and NPR.

She is also an initiated energetic healer. That is not a side note. It is the reason her method works when technique alone does not.

She successfully coached me to give a commencement address during Harvard College's graduation. Employers to this day have watched the speech. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Common questions

A few details.

What if I can't attend live?

Register anyway. Registered attendees who cannot make it will receive a 48-hour access replay. The general public will not.

Do I need to have a talk written already?

No. In fact it's better if you don't. We work from the idea, not the script. Most speakers arrive with a topic and leave with a talk.

Is it really free?

Yes. The full masterclass. No credit card. I do mention my other work at the end for anyone who wants to go deeper.

Will you actually help me get selected?

This masterclass teaches the pipeline. My private clients also get warm intros to TEDx curators I have worked with. That path opens at the end for those who want it.
